What is the Circle of Fifths?
Musicians!
For music students, hobbyist musicians, weekend jammers -- you might have heard of this thing called "The Circle of Fifths".
A lot of people get confused about what it is & what it's useful for.
Some people go on for years & still not understand it or memorise it.
If you've been wondering what it is & how to easily use it, this video might help.
What is this?
It's a 15-minute screenshare video that I recorded for students of a class I conducted a few years ago. It's very basic but has clear audio & has me showing you how to:
+ construct the circle of fifths
+ how to use it
+ why it's important
Who is this for?
This is for you if:
+ you've googled about the Circle of Fifths but still don't understand it
+ you've watched other videos about it but still don't get it
+ you wanna learn how to quickly identify major scales in any key
+ you want to know how many sharps or flats are in a key
+ master key signatures finally once and for all
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1) Do I get an eBook with this?
No, you only get a 15-minute video.
2) Can I download the video?
Yes, you can.
3) Why is the video only 15 minutes?
Because that's how long it took to explain the concept for the class. I don't purposely make the video longer & charge you more for it. It's as concise and easy as I could make it so that you don't waste time watching a long video.
4) I don't know much music theory. Is this useful for me?
If you know some major scales, know what is the chromatic scale & you're familiar with half steps/whole steps as well as basic music theory, then you're okay. If you're a complete newbie to this, you might need more than this video.
5) Why don't you cover other music theory topics?
I probably will but not in this one. This video was literally in my archives and I realised that it might be useful for someone so I decided to make it available here.
